About the School
GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Carver Elementary School is a Pre-K through eighth grade school with approximately 400 students. We have 18 teachers and a small support staff. Carver Elementary is an Apple ConnectED School. Each student works on an apple iPad to increase student achievement. The students are using the ipads to be creative, collaborate, and demonstrate their critical thinking and communication skills.
The school wide programs that exist are our core curriculum reading, math, science, social studies, and art. We implement a Response to Intervention (RTI) program using a blended learning model. This program assist students at their performance level. Our other interventions include after-school and during the day pullout programs. These programs are specific to the academic needs of the student.
Our main goal is that all of our students will be proficient and advanced in all content areas. In order to achieve this goal, we focus on teaching and student learning, teacher and parent learning, collaboration, and accountability demonstrated by students learning outcomes as measured by the bimonthly assessments, district benchmarks, end of the unit chapter assessments, and CAASPP.
