4th and 5th graders had a very special visit from Doyin Richards, Author, Keynote Speaker, Trainer, and Founder of the Anti-Racism Fight Club.
Our 6th and 7th graders also had a very special visit from Joe Cepeda, Author, Illustrator, and President of the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.
Ms. Guglielmo's 2nd graders building towers out of flash cards and paper clips to practice science and math skills.

Summer academic and enrichment camp
Please take a moment to apply for the Summer Academic and Enrichment Camp for your K-7th grade students. It will be a great opportunity to address your child's academic needs in the areas of reading and mathematics. Here are the details:
- On-campus at Carver Elementary
- Focus on reading and math
- Enrichment courses will be offered: art, music, science, journalism, PE, coding, and computer science
- Monday through Thursday
- June 20th - July 28th
- Instruction 8:30-2:00 p.m.
- Breakfast from 8:00-8:30 a.m.
- Lunch served daily

closed campus
Carver Elementary is a closed campus. Families and visitors will not be allowed on campus during instructional hours. Families will say their goodbyes at the gates in the morning and will greet their children at the Success Avenue gate in the afternoon. If a family member has arranged a meeting with a staff member, he or she will be allowed on campus with a visitor's pass from the Main Office.
School uniform policy
Please be reminded that our school must abide by the district's school uniform policy, which states all students wear a uniform everyday.
K-5th Grade: Yellow collar tops, Hunter Green bottoms, *No Jeans
6th-8th Grade: Hunter Green collar tops, Khaki or Black bottoms, *No Jeans

2022 district Spelling bee
Our very own Vanessa Diaz won 3rd place in the Junior Division and was awarded a trophy and gifts at the District office on Friday, April 1, 2022. We're so proud of your hard work and dedication!

Ms. Fraga is not only a very experienced teacher, having worked in various positions for Compton Unified School District, but is also extremely hard working and dedicated. She provides after school tutoring, leads the school's Robotics Team, and teaches for the Saturday School Program. She has created a bright, welcoming classroom environment full of resources and support for her students and is happy to share her expertise with others.
